John Port worked a walk-off walk to score Poggi and give Watchung Hills the victory.

“What an effort Brian gave us today,” said Watchung Hills Head Coach Joe Tremarco. His pitch count was right where we wanted to be at the end of seventh and he wanted the eighth. He was still hitting all his spots with great command of his secondary stuff so it was an easy decision to send him out for the eighth inning.”

“We've said from day one we're gonna focus on pitching and defense and we got a boat load of both today! Two great Teams with two great pitchers going today, you just knew it was going to be one of those games,” said Tremarco.

Mike Rica pitched seven shutout innings for Ridge. He gave up seven hits, and struck out seven.
