SUMMIT, NJ – Watchung Hills’ lefty Brian Reiss won his fifth game of the season as Watchung Hills defeated Summit on Friday, 2-1. Reiss allowed just one run while scattering five hits and no walks over seven complete innings.

“Reiss has been doing what he does, he throws strikes and trusts his defense,” said Coach Joe Tremarco when asked about his star pitcher’s command on the mound.

Watchung Hills’ Matt Mastrobattista was 2-for-4 and Tyler Kulisz went 1- for-1 with a walk, a stolen base, and an RBI. Eric Plesko batted in the Warriors’ other run with a sac fly.

The win improves Watchung Hills’ record to 13-2 on the season. The Warriors next play rival Hunterdon Central at home on May 3. Hunterdon Central defeated Watchung Hills 2-1 earlier this season.

When asked about the upcoming game Tremarco said “we need to play Central like we've been playing...eliminate any mental and physical the guy on the mound....and work good hitter's counts.”
