WARREN, NJ – Watchung Hills Warrior Tyler Lombardo earned his first win of the season and allowed just one run on two hits as the WHRHS Warriors defeated Phillipsburg,11-1, on Tuesday.

"Tyler did real well on the mound today,” said Watchung Hills head coach Joe Tremarco. “His curve was sharp all day. "

Watchung Hills banged out 11 hits. The Warriors' red hot Danny Bongiorno went 2-for-2 with an RBI. Bongiorno at the plate is 7-for-8 on the season. In addition to Bongiorno, Eric Plesko, Chris Roth, and Ed Poggi all had multi-hit games. Bongiorno, Anthony Rocchietti, and Eric Plesko each drove in two runs.

“Offensively the boys did a great job of working hitters counts and being selective, but aggressive on their pitches,” said Tremarco.

The victory improves Watchung Hills’ record to 2-1 on the season. Watchung Hills next plays home April 8 versus Hunterdon Central.
