WARREN, NJ - The Watchung Hills Hustlin' Warriors varsity baseball team defeated Bridgewater-Raritan in eight innings on Tuesday to advance to the  Quarterfinal Round of the NJSIAA North 2 Group 4 Tournament, 3-2.


Dylan Murphy earned a bases loaded walk with one out in the bottom of the 8th to score Mike Murray and win it for the Warriors.


Kevin Sylvestri threw 5 2/3 innings giving up two runs on five hits, five walks, and struck out four. Joe Blajsa came on in relief retiring all seven batters he faced to pick up the win.

"Great job all the way around....Having a Senior up (Murphy) in that situation was huge and Blajsa in relief retiring all 7 batters he faced," said WHRHS head coach Joe Tremarco.  "Couldnt be any more of a character test, and our guys answered the call!"


 Mike Murray was 3 for 3 on the day with a run scored, a walk, and the game tying RBI in the bottom of the 6th. Tyler Riley was 2 for 3 with a walk. 


Regan Goldberg went 2 for 4 with a run scored for the Panthers. 


The Hustlin' Warriors will now face North Hunterdon Wednesday, May 24 in the Quarterfinal Round of the North 2 Group 4 State Playoffs at Watchung Hills.
