WARREN, NJ  – It was a pitcher's duel and Rutgers Prep came out on top of the Watchung Hills Hustlin' Warriors in the quarterfinal of the Somerset County Tournament on Saturday, 2-1.

The score was tied 0-0 until the sixth inning. Both teams got eight hits in 11 innings.

Kevin Sylvestri pitched eight innings, striking out 11 and allowing just four hits, an earned run and one walk. Joe Blajsa relieved Sylvestri for the Warriors.

Sam Beck went 6 1/3 innings, with eight strikeouts allowing just five hits, an earned run and two walks for Rutgers Prep.  It was coming home in a way for Beck who played for the Hustlin' Warriors his freshman year.

Anthony Kuzmenko earned the win for Rutgers Prep in relief.

Rutgers Prep scored first when Justin Henry hit an RBI double to score Guilio Vetriani.

But Watchung Hills tied it up in the bottom of the sixth on Brandon Hylton's home run.

The winning run came in the top of the 11th inning when Lorezno Geroso hit an RBI double to score  Kyle Johns.

Watchung Hills is now 10-6 on the season and Rutgers Prep is 9-9.
