WARREN, NJ - The Watchung Hills boys basketball team defeated Warren Hills in the last home game of the season on Friday, 70-50, to remain unbeaten at home.

Four teachers were selected by each of the senior boys basketball players  to be honored at the first annual Teacher Appreciation Night before tip off. Each senior chose one teacher that has had a positive impact on them and helped to make their experience a positive one.

Steven Bressler chose Mrs. Lettington, Gavin DeFuria chose Mrs. Raimondo, Mike Hopwood chose Mrs. Krutz, and Dan Pilsbury chose Mr. Gibson.

Gavin DeFuria led the Warriors with 18 points. Dan Pilsbury had 16 points, Chad Martini added 12 points and Steven Bressler chipped in 11 points. DeFuria, Pilsbury, and Bressler each hit 3 three-pointers. Mike Hopwood added seven points.

James Jordan led Warren Hills with 17 points.

“Proud of the entire program as we finished the year undefeated at home,” said WHRHS head coach Justin Salton. “Now we hope to continue to extend the season each night in the state tourney.”

Watchung Hills is now 19-7 on the season and next plays in the first round of the state tournament in Union at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
