MADISON, NJ - Four Watchung Hills players hit for double digit points to hand the West Morris Central Wolfpack its first loss of the season on Sunday in the Believe in a Cure Showcase at Farleigh Dickinson University, 64-50.
Watchung Hills improves to 14-1 and West Morris drops to 10-1 on the season.
“What a huge win against the 16 team in the state,” said WHRHS head coach Justin Salton. “They are considered one of the best public schools in the state, so it was great that we were able to perform tonight. We are so proud of them and heading into this game we felt really good because we had a tremendous practice yesterday and shootaround.”
At the half, Watchung Hills led 30-22. The Wolfpack closed the gap to 35-34 in the third but by the end of the period the Warriors were up 48-36.
Chad Martini had a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds for the Warriors. Pat Stefurak added 15 points, Trevor Bokach chipped in 12 points, Brian Hopwood added 10, and Michael Bressler has 8 points for Watchung Hills.
Christian Cevis led all scorers with 23 points for West Morris.
