WARREN, NJ - The Watchung Hills boys lacrosse team defeated North Hunterdon in the quarterfinal round of the NJSIAA North Jersey, Group 4 tournament on Saturday, 10-2.
”It was a quality win against a tough North Hunterdon group’” said WHRHS head coach Jamie Lovejoy. “We’re happy to have earned the opportunity to move forward in the state tournament and grateful to have more time together as a team.”
Connor James scored a hat trick and Gavin DeFuria, Joe Rica, and Brendan Dreyer each added two goals for Watchung Hills.
“Congratulations to Coach Lovejoy, his staff, and all of our Warrior Lacrosse players on a great win today in state tournament action,” said WHRHS Director of Athletics Chris Van Vliet. “Best of luck in the sectional semifinals on Wednesday.”
The Warriors improve to 16-2 and will next play Westfield in the semifinals. Westfield defeated Ridge Saturday, 6-5.
