WARREN, NJ - Senior night, and another win for Watchung Hills. The Watchung Hills boys soccer team defeated North Hunterdon on senior night on Monday, 2-1.

“Senior night is always a special night and to win it makes it that much more special,” said WHRHS head coach Greg Leonow.

Shray Parimoo scored first for Watchung Hills on a perfect header off the corner from Chris Meireles with 36 minutes left in the first half. Meireles scored the second goal for the Warriors on an assist from Damien Santos, and Bo Scanlon stopped six in goal for the Warriors.

Garrett Andreski scored North Hunterdon’s lone goal.

At the half, the high school coaching staff spotlighted this year’s 15 high school seniors of the boys varsity soccer team with presentations on the field. All of the seniors and their parents were recognized. The boys each received a commemorative soccer ball and presented flowers to their mothers.

The seniors are: Evan Bujnowski, Sal Cianfano, Sebastian Cobas, Max Anthony Costa, Liam Feeley, Marc Inacio, Sebastian Leon Garcia, Davin Lui, Christopher Meireles, Shray Parimoo, Makai Parkey, Damien Santos, Liam “Bo” Scanlon, John Seyda, and Daniel Snyder.

The Warriors thanked the Watchung Hills Soccer Association, "where many of the Warriors' players got their start," for their donation of the soccer balls. 


“Great win for the Warriors tonight. I'm very happy that we were able to send our seniors home with a victory,” said WHRHS Director of Athletics Dan Root.


Watchung Hills improves to 3-1-2 and next plays Montgomery on Thursday.
