WARREN, NJ - Union scored first and kept on running to take a 40-27 victory over Watchung Hills at the Warrior Homecoming game on Friday night. The game was a white-out for the Warriors and the Tribe was out in force.
Mark Ball connected with Frank Rica twice in the the end zone, ran one in himself and in the second half, after taking the field at the half as a part of the Homecoming court, Gregg Seawright added another TD, but it wasn't enough to catch the Farmers.
Jack Stefurek made all three extra point attempts for the Warriors. The run attempt failed on the last TD.
Union took an early lead when Jeron Whitfield took the ball on an 80-yard TD run to spark a 20-point first quarter for Union. Whitfield had 11 carries for 131 yards.
Justin Beckett completed 10-of-14 passes for 204 yards and four touchdowns, including two to Caleb Holden for Union. Holden had five catches for 112 yards and two TD receptions.
The Warriors record falls to 2-5 while Union improves to 3-4.
