WARREN, NJ - Watchung Hills led at the half,16-14, but Reed Handabaka had 20 carries for 117 yards and two rushing touchdowns to lift Ridge over Watchung Hills on senior night, 42-22.

All senior football players, cheerleaders and band members were recognized along with their parents at the game. After the football players and cheerleaders were honored, the capacity crowd stood for a moment of silence remembering Watchung Hills teacher and coach Juan Carlos Cruz who died Oct. 29.

Visitation for Cruz started prior to the game on Friday.

The game was a blackout and the Watchung Hills touchdown club sold 'Blackout the Hills' shirts with $1500 proceeds to be donated to the fundraising page. 

Tyler James had a 55-yard fumble return in the first quarter for Watchung Hills.

Dan Skea had 13 carries for 104 yards and one TD while Ryan Gogerty threw a 25-yard touchdown pass to Devin Steiglitz and had a 15-yard fumble return for Ridge.

Watchung Hills is now 1-8 on the season and Ridge is 8-1.

Travels Update - Long Beach Island Summer Shuttle No Longer A Free Ride

BRANT BEACH - The Long Beach Island Shuttle, an extremely popular service for visitors and residents of Long Beach Island, will have a fee for the first time beginning Memorial Day weekend. 

The Long Beach Township Board of Commissioners made the announcement at their meeting on Monday, April 9.
