WARREN, NJ - The Watchung Hills Girls fencing team dominated the West Windsor Plainsboro South fencers on Tuesday, 18-9.
In the first round of fencing both the foil squads and the epee squads were undefeated for the Warriors.  In the second round, West Windsor was able to eke out 3 wins, 2 in the sabre round and 1 in the foil round.  However, once again in the second round, Watchung Hills' epee squad swept West Windsor.   The Warriors clinched the meet with Amanda Soliman's win in Sabre in the third round, 14-6.

Notable performances on the part of the Watchung Hills Warriors fencing team were made by Jenna Leski in sabre and Katelyn Bereheiko in epee who each went 3 and 0.   Brooke Stanicki and Rachel Lee each went 2 and 0 in foil, as did Jesse Sun and Julia Liaw in epee. Additionally, freshman Allie Fenlon in epee and sophomore Alana Margulies in foil brought in wins for the Warriors.

The girls team now advances to the Semi-Final round to face Montgomery High School, at Montgomery on Thursday, February 18. The winner of that meet will advance to the State Championship finals at Morris Hills on Wednesday, February 24. The loser of Thursday's meet will fence off for third place in the State on the same date.
