WARREN, NJ - Julia Burton netted four goals and Katie Carroll added three goals and six assists to lead the Watchung Hills girls lacrosse team over North Brunswick in the first round of the NJSIAA North Jersey, Section 2, Group 4 tournament on Monday, 14-6.

Watchung Hills scored first and took a 7-4 lead into the break.

“Congratulations to Coach Tuma, his staff, and all of our Lady Warrior lacrosse players on their impressive win at home in the state tournament today,” said WHRHS Director of Athletics Chris Van Vliet. “We are very proud of you all and wish you luck in the next round.”

Madelyn Murphy scored a hat trick and Emily Hold, Emery Jochnau, Lauren Olin and Kayleigh Tuma each netted one goal for the Warriors.

Watchung Hills improves to 5-10 and next faces Bridgewater on May 17.
