WARREN, NJ - The Watchung Hills Regional High School girls soccer team will open the season at Montgomery on Saturday, Oct. 3. The Warriors will play an 11-game season coming off a 12-10 season last year.

“After a slow start last year, we finished the season strong and we’re hoping to build off of that this year,” said WHRHS head coach Brian Figuerido.  “We have a very young core, with good veteran leadership, so it’s a mixture that I think can be pretty successful if our young players can take the next step.”

Returning as co-captain is four year varsity player Emily Morris, sharing co-captain honors this season with Jayden Fleishacker and Lauren Dolce.

Asked about team strengths and weaknesses, Coach Fig said:

Our strengths would be team speed, our goalkeepers and overall depth at multiple positions.

Weaknesses would be our lack of team chemistry with a limited summer program and uncertainty if our young players can take the next step.
