WARREN, NJ - The Watchung Hills girls varsity tennis team is on a roll. The NJ. com rankings out today have the Watchung Hills girls at No.13 in the state and No. 5 in Group 4 behind Montgomery and Ridge.

The girls came in first place at the Westfield Invitational this past Saturday. Their overall record is now 7-2 with the only losses coming from  Montgomery, 3-2, and Ridge, 4-1. 

The team started strong with 5-0 wins over Hillsborough, Bridgewater, Columbia, and South Brunswick.

And beat Pingry, 4-1, and Westfield, 4-1. The two matches against Ridge were split with the Warriors on top first, 4-1 and Ridge taking the second meeting, 4-1. First doubles Caitlin Yang and Sophie Weaver won their match against Ridge Tuesday. 2nd Singles Brenda Peng put up a good fight but lost in the third set super tie breaker.

The other loss came from Montgomery on Monday, 3-2.

This girls will next play in the Somerset County girls tennis tournament this weekend.
