GLADSTONE, NJ – It was supposed to be a tight Somerset County quarter final match with the No. 2 Gill St. Bernard’s Knights taking on the surging number No. 7  Watchung Hill’s Warriors. The second half lived up to the billing, but for those in attendance the game was pretty much already over as Gill scored four goals in the first half in rolling up a 7-3 victory over Watchung Hills.

Anes Mrkulic led the Knights offensive juggernaut scoring three goals and adding an assist. The Knights’ Kevin Brito and Steven Bednarsky both scored twice and each added two assists.

Gill St. Bernard’s goalie Aaron Hinton got the win turning away 11 Warrior shots on goal. Watchung Hills goalie Matt Grunstein had nine saves.

Gill St. Bernard’s improves their record to 11-2 and advances to the semifinals of the Somerset County Tournament. Watchung Hills falls to 7-4 on the season.
