WARREN, NJ - History was made at Watchung Hills on Friday night. The Watchung Hills grapplers defeated Westfield  at home in the finals of the NJSIAA sectional tournament to win the first sectional title in school history, 39-23. Watchung Hills is 23-2 on the season and will wrestle in the group championships in Toms River on Sunday.

Watchung Hills has been close to the championship before only to lose in the finals in 2015 to North Hunterdon, 44-21, in 2016 to Bridgewater-Raritan, 29-25 and in 2017 to Piscataway, 39-24. The Warrior Tribe was out in force to support the team this year, and even sang the National Anthem for the senior’s last home match.
