The Warren Township Democratic Committee announced today that John Fahy will be joining their ticket for the Township Committee in the upcoming election. He will be running with Ilana Goldstein-Barsky for the two contested seats on the Township Committee.

Fahy, a lifelong Warren resident, acknowledges the many challenges facing the Township, including the impact of the Covid-19 outbreak, and the need to address our affordable housing obligations. "In times like these, we need to figure out how to come together as a township to solve these problems, while simultaneously finding ways to cooperate with the people and governments of our neighboring municipalities."

John is dedicated to greater transparency in town government. As a candidate for township committee in 2019, he called on the committee to live-stream their meetings. The committee took up his suggestion this year and began live-streaming meetings on Facebook. Fahy thinks even more can be done to increase government transparency. "I believe there are some simple, concrete things that could be done to increase community engagement and awareness, such as improving the video quality of the recoded town committee meetings and posting interpretations of proposed ordinances on the township website, so residents have the opportunity to review and comment on them in the meetings."

"We are excited to have John on the ballot this year," says Patti O'Byrne, Chair of the Warren Township Democratic Committee. "He and Ilana make a great team; they are the new voices that Warren residents need on our Township Committee."
