I’ve known Jerry Searfoss for 17 years and throughout that time he has always served the people of Green Brook. During his years on the Board of Education, as a member of the Green Brook Lions Club, and as a member of the Green Brook Township Committee, Jerry has always impressed me with his level-headedness and his ability to address issues by taking away the static surrounding them and getting to what really matters in order to make a proper decision.
Jerry always takes the time to analyze an issue before he makes a decision on his position and how he will vote and his decision is always made with one thing in mind, what is best for the people of Green Brook.
During his time on the Green Brook Township Committee, which included his time as Mayor, Jerry has always challenged the municipal budget, looking for cost savings and expanded shared services. This has resulted in five consecutive years of reductions to the municipal portion of Green Brook’s property taxes. Jerry has also zealously supported sensible development and was an adamant supporter of the purchase of the land that is being developed as the Arthur Lewis Park on the site of the former Green Brook Swim club. This action will provide a valuable recreation space for Green Brook and has preserved 11 acres of land from development.
For these reasons and many others, I am voting for Jerry Searfoss on Tuesday and I encourage all of the voters in Green Brook to do the same.
Patrick Boccio, Mayor Green Brook Township
