WARREN, NJ - Warren will be ready for outdoor dining, yoga, and martial arts when Gov. Murphy' s Executive Order #150 goes into effect.

At a Special Township Committee Meeting held on June 3, the Warren Township Committee introduced Ordinance 20-19, which amends the Zoning Ordinance to allow outdoor dining and outdoor commerce consistent with Governor Murphy’s Executive Order #150 permitting such activities.


Mayor Marion stated, “It is time for restaurants and commerce in Warren to reopen. Our community needs the services and the renewed economic vitality.”

Applications for outdoor dining will be mailed or emailed to all restaurants within the coming days and will be available on the Zoning Permits page of the Warren Township Website at warrrennj.org/zoning-permits/. All applications pursuant to this Ordinance shall be submitted to the Zoning Officer who will review and act upon the permits in accordance with the Ordinance. If you have any questions about the Zoning application, please call the Zoning Department at (908) 753-8000, Ext. 243.


For those businesses with a liquor license who wish to implement outdoor dining, please contact Cathy Reese, Township Clerk, at (908) 753-8000, Ext. 223 to obtain direction according to State Regulations.


This Ordinance also permits businesses that provide yoga, martial arts, or similar instruction to obtain a permit through the Recreation Department for such use at the Municipal Complex or Wagner Farm. Businesses who are interested should contact the Warren Township Recreation Department at (908) 753-8000, ext. 270 or 271.


Committeewoman Jolanta Maziarz is coordinating with the Warren Township Chamber of Commerce in assisting the business community in implementing the provisions of this new Ordinance.


Deputy Mayor George Lazo and Committeeman Gary DiNardo conducted a walking tour of Township businesses in order to assure them of the Township Committee’s support for their reopening. The Deputy Mayor commented that the businesses were pleased that we visited their establishments and are excited that the Township was taking action to assist in their reopening.
