Turkey Trot Set for Thanksgiving Day

SOMERVILLE, NJ - The borough Recreation Department is sponsoring the III annual “Turkey Trot” 5K run Thanksgiving morning, Nov. 22.

The race is sanctioned by the USATF, with sanctioned 500 Grand Prix points.

The 2016 inaugural event drew 600 runners and raised over $10,000; last year’s event drew over 800 runners and raised $18,000.

Woman Identified in Fatal Train Accident on Gladstone Branch

NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ - Susan Brown, 61 years old, of New Providence was killed Thursday after her 2015 Nissan Altima was struck by the #0432 NJ Transit Gladstone train at the Union Avenue crossing in New Providence Thursday evening during a snow storm. Brown was pronounced dead at Morristown Memorial Hospital.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ - Bridgewater Township Police are asking for assistance in identifying a man who committed a robbery at Provident Bank, on Union Avenue, Wednesday morning.
