WARREN, NJ -  Need Chicken?  Want to help? The call went out and the Warren community responded.  In just a few days, 350 families signed up to pick up chicken and donate to the Somerset County Food Bank through Feed to Give.

“Today we served over 350 families and raised $5,750, which will benefit the Food Bank Network of Somerset County!  “ said organizer Carys Law. “In addition to last week's event, we have raised $7,800.  We are currently working with corporate sponsors to match with food donations raised by today's event.  Immediately after the fundraiser, we drove over to the Somerset Food Bank and donated over 2,000lbs of chicken tenders!  We will be making weekly drop-offs at the food bank to service their clients.

We would like to thank Warren Township and the Bernards Township Regional Chamber of Commerce for their support and for making the Feed to Give fundraiser come to life.  I am extremely grateful for the overwhelming support from our community!  Thank you.” 

“We just received pledges from our corporate sponsors, which will bring us to over $10,000 raised!,” she added.

Warren Township Committeeman Vic Sordillo said,” Thank You! “and to Al LiCata who got this started,” Happy Birthday!”

"On behalf of the Township Committee we are all very proud of how well this Fundraiser ran,” Warren Mayor Mick Marion said.  “Thanks to Vic(Sordillo) and Gary( DiNardo) for their efforts putting this together as well as our Police Chief Bill Keane’s support to keep us safe.  With such strong demand,  perhaps we can do another one in May.”

“Thank you to the Warren Township Governing Body for working with us and in a matter of two days, was able to get this event put together,” said Al LiCata said. “Working together to address our needy and offering residents a fantastic deal on chicken is a Win-Win for all!”
