BEACH HAVEN, NJ— You could have easily seen this coming.  The proposed 102 room hotel and marina with many supporters and many opponents was seeking approval from the Beach Haven Borough Land Use Board.  The meeting was halted by the Beach Haven Fire Marshall due to overcrowding and potential fire hazard.

The meeting has been tentatively rescheduled for 6 p.m. February 3 at the Surflight Theater.

The meeting was halted approximated 40 minutes after it began.

  • Some work was accomplished such as swearing in of a few new members and professional appointments.
  • The Ship Bottom Brewery was granted approval to change their daily closing hour from 10 p.m. to midnight this year.

Almost as soon as the Morrison's Marina item began, the meeting was stopped by the Fire Marshall.
