WARREN, NJ - Warren Township’s Office of Emergency Management (OEM) and Coordinator Jane Asch were awarded the 2018 Outstanding Emergency Management Program Award for Warren Township from Somerset County. Mayor Gary DiNardo and Township Committeewoman Carolann Garafola presented Asch with the award at the last Township Committee meeting.
DiNardo thanked Asch for her tireless commitment noting she’s put in hundreds of hours of training.
“We’ve worked a lot together during the storms ,” he said. “Thank you from our hearts and from all the residents.”
Garafola said they wanted to acknowledge Asch in public because “it’s you and people like you that no one ever sees .. you’re down in the basement, on the phones, out on the roads, and it’s a time for you and all the people behind you to be recognized. “ “You’ve taken us through Floyd, Hurricane Irene, Sandy and the October storm that was even worse.”
Ash thanked her team saying,”I don’t do this alone. It’s a team, and this wouldn’t have happened without this team effort.” She also thanked her family noting she wouldn’t have the time to volunteer without their support. See video here.
