WARREN, NJ - The Warren Township Committee and Warren Green Team Chair Laura Mandell recognized Girl Scout Troop 65900 at the last meeting of the Warren Township Committee.
The troop, led by Co-Leaders Julie Bu, Lisa Van Skiver and Annette Bisci, have been together since their Daisy days in Kindergarten and have been volunteering at the Green Fair since 2013. “We have been a troop for 13 years,” said Bu. “Started with 25 girls went down to six and back up to 10 when they were Freshman in High school. “ The girls are all 2019 graduates of Watchung Hills Regional High School.

Mayor Gary DiNardo and Mandell thanked them for their efforts and example and wished them well. Some highlights since the girls began volunteering at the Green Fair are:
April 2013 - First year volunteered at the book swap table
April 2014 Cadette Breathe journey - The girls gave out plants and presented information on clean air and volunteered for the book swap table.
April 2015 Girls ran the book swap table.
April 2016 Senior Visionary Journey - The girls had a display about empowering women and while running the book swap table collected books that were in good shape that could be resold to a company that profits went to women's charities.
April 2017 Senior "Sow What?" Journey some girls did Farm to Table Presentation and some girls ran the book swap table.
April 2018 Girls ran the book swap table.
May 2019 Two girls displayed their gold award Stress Relief Activities & Help Save the next girl, other girls volunteered at the styrofoam truck.
