WARREN, NJ - Exclamations of excitement were heard in parts of Warren Township Thursday morning when Somerset County began delivering new 65 gallon recycling totes to Warren residents.

The Somerset County Recycling Division will be implementing its Dual Stream Program in Warren Township.

Residents will be provided with two 65-gallon, wheeled recycling totes. Each tote has a different colored lid (yellow and lime green) with stickers that will indicate the materials to be placed in each of the containers.  The tote with the lime green lid will be used for cardboard and paper products and the tote with the yellow lid will be for commingled glass, cans, and plastic materials. Plastic bags, Styrofoam, garbage cans, flower pots, or kitty litter containers will not be picked up.

Regularly scheduled pickups for these new totes will begin on the next scheduled recycling date after delivery of the totes. Your totes will be distributed by June 11, 2020.

Details regarding the program can be found on the Warren Township website on the Public Works page at warrennj.org/public-works/.

You may keep your existing 20-gallon container or contact the Somerset County Recycling Division and they will pick up the old container.
