SOMERVILLE, NJ - The Somerset County Department of Health Tuesday reported 21,867 positive tests for the COVID-19 virus overnight an increase of 117 cases with 706 COVID-19 deaths reported since March 8, 2020.

The New Jersey Department of Health on Tuesday reported a total of 820,686 positive cases of the coronavirus since the pandemic began its spread in the state one year ago, an increase of 3,222 overnight. The death toll in New Jersey is 22,132, an increase of 51 overnight.

There have been 12,372,244 COVID-19 tests administered in New Jersey.

Somerville has had a total of 1,017 COVID-19 cases since March 2020, with a total of 16 COVID-19 related deaths.

The number of COVID-19 cases worldwide is 132,674,674 including 2,878,031 deaths, according to the federal Centers for Disease Control & Prevention on Tuesday morning, with 31,508,708 cases in the United States and 56,438 deaths.

The SCDOH confirmed the deaths of 206 Franklin Township residents; 93 in Hillsborough/Millstone; 102 in Bridgewater; 47 in Bernards Township; 51 in North Plainfield; 35 in Green Brook; 15 in Watchung; 22 in Raritan; 23 in Bound Brook; 22 in Warren; 21 in Manville; 16 in Somerville; 21 in Montgomery; 10 in Branchburg; 5 in Bedminster; 5 in Bernardsville; 4 in South Bound Brook; 4 in Peapack-Gladstone and 1 in Rocky Hill and 1 in Far Hills.
