MORRISTOWN, NJ - Senior Joe Blajsa picked up his first win of the season and Kevin Badger went 4-for-4 with a run scored, a stolen base and one RBI to lead Watchung Hills over Morristown on Wednesday, 6-3.
Blajsa pitched six and 2/3 innings allowing only six hits, striking out five and walking one. Junior Ben Ant came in for the strikeout save to pick up his second save of the season for the Warriors.
James McKenna was 2-for-4 with a two-RBI double in the fifth to put the Warriors ahead. Matt Alarcon, Mike Murray and Anthony Carotenuto had an RBI apiece for Watchung Hills.
“Just a great TEAM win against a quality opponent,” said WHRHS head coach Joe Tremarco in an e-mail post game. “Really had that big game feel for the entire seven innings. Blasja pitched his guts out and gave us the performance we needed to beat a team like that! Badger with a great day at the plate and a great defensive effort by all!”
Brennan O'Neill went 2-for-3 with two RBI and a run scored for Morristown.
Watchung Hills improves to 2-2 on the season and next plays Immaculata on Thursday at Diamond Nation.
