SOMERVILLE, NJ - A four-month investigation into a suspected heroin distribution ring in Somerset and Middlesex counties that involved several police agencies from both counties has resulted in the arrests of 25 suspects, with four more arrests pending.

Alll suspects face a variety of charges from manufacturing, distribution and possession as well as burglary and weapons charges, according to Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson.

A quantity of cocaine was also seized in the investigation, he added.

The heroin seized has an estimated street value of $30,000 and the cocaine seized has an estimated street value of approximately $1,300, according to Robertson.

The distribution ring included Ibe Allah, 53, North Oaks Boulevard, North Brunswick, Clifford Christian (A.K.A. “Cee”), 55, Harvey Street, New Brunswick, Daniel Brown (A.K.A. “Twin”), 39, Main Street, Spotswood, Robert Byrom (A.K.A. “Has”), 62, French Street, New Brunswick, Christine Peritore, York Drive, Edison and Shaday Gordon, 33, Cedar Lane, Highland Park, Robertson said.

They are charged with the following offenses:

1. Ibe Allah – 1st degree Leader of Narcotics Trafficking Network, 1st degree Promotion of Organized Street Crime, 1st degree Maintaining or Operating a Controlled Dangerous Substance Production Facility, 2nd degree Conspiracy, 2nd degree Possession with Intent to Distribute CDS (heroin), and 2nd degree Possession with Intent to Distribute CDS (cocaine).

2. Clifford Christian- 2nd degree Possession with Intent to Distribute CDS (heroin), 2nd degree Conspiracy, and Drug Paraphernalia, a disorderly persons offense.

3. Daniel Brown- 1st degree Leader of Narcotics Trafficking Network, 1st degree Promotion of Organized Street Crime, 1st degree Maintaining or Operating a Controlled Dangerous Substance production facility, 1st degree, Robbery, 1st degree, Burglary, 2nd degree, Conspiracy, 2nd degree, Possession with Intent to Distribute CDS (heroin), 2nd degree, Possession with Intent to Distribute CDS (cocaine), 2nd degree, Drug Paraphernalia, a disorderly persons offense.

4. Robert Byrom- 2nd degree Possession with Intent to Distribute CDS (heroin), 2nd degree Conspiracy, Drug Paraphernalia, a disorderly persons offense.

5. Christine Peritore- 1st degree Maintaining or Operating a Controlled Dangerous Substance production facility, 2nd degree Endangering the welfare of a child, 2nd degree Possession with Intent to Distribute CDS (heroin), 2nd degree Conspiracy, and Drug Paraphernalia, a disorderly persons offense.

6. Shaday Gordon- 1st degree Maintaining or Operating a Controlled Dangerous Substance production facility, 2nd degree Endangering the welfare of a child, 2nd degree Possession with Intent to Distribute CDS (heroin), and 2nd degree Conspiracy.

Also charged were:

7. Hassan Cooper, 31, Edpas Road, New Brunswick – 1st degree Maintaining or Operating a Controlled Dangerous Substance, production facility, 1st degree Robbery, 2nd degree Burglary, 2nd degree Possession with Intent to Distribute CDS (heroin), 2nd degree Conspiracy, and Drug Paraphernalia, a disorderly persons offense.

8. Melanie Giachetti, 46, York Drive, Edison – 1st degree Maintaining or Operating a Controlled Dangerous Substance production facility, 2nd degree Endangering the welfare of a child, 2nd degree Possession with Intent to Distribute CDS (heroin), 2nd degree Conspiracy, and Drug Paraphernalia, a disorderly persons offense.

9. Jermaine L. Robinson Jr., 26, Millstone Road, Somerset,– 2nd degree Possession of a Weapon by Certain Persons and 2nd degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon.

10. Laquan Hill, 30, Edpas Road New Brunswick – 2nd degree Possession with Intent to Distribute CDS (cocaine) and 2nd degree Conspiracy.

11. Darrell Williams, 42, Edpas Road New Brunswick – 2nd degree Possession with Intent to Distribute CDS (cocaine) and 2nd degree Conspiracy.

12. Dwight Beckett, 56, Somerset Street, Somerset – 4th degree Possession of Hollow point bullets and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a disorderly persons offense.

13. Sanford James, 48, Oliver Avenue, New Brunswick – 2nd degree Possession with Intent to Distribute CDS (heroin) and 2nd degree Conspiracy.

Robertson provided the following account:

On Wednesday, Oct. 23rd investigators executed eight Superior Court-issued search warrants to include the residences of Daniel Brown, Hassan Cooper, Shaday Gordon, Sanford James, Christine Peritore, and Melanie Giachetti, which resulted in the seizure of approximately 70 grams of raw heroin, approximately 2,500 bags of packaged heroin, approximately one ounce of cocaine, a Charter Arms .38 caliber handgun, $5,050.00 cash, and numerous items utilized for drug manufacturing to include empty wax folds, ink pads, various brands of stampers utilized to identify heroin, sifters, scales, packaging material, rubber bands, and cutting agents.

Hassan Cooper and Daniel Brown were additionally charged with 1st degree Armed Robbery for their roles during a home invasion in Plainfield which occurred on Thursday, Oct. 3rd, according to Robertson.

On Tuesday, October 29th, the following individuals were arrested for 3rd degree Conspiracy to Possess a Controlled Dangerous Substance:

Irving Figueroa, 31, Freeman Street, New Brunswick;

Joseph Langone, 48, Crescent Avenue, Spotswood;

Jose Medero-Lopez, 50, Wright Place, New Brunswick;

Jose Cotto, 49, Towson Street, New Brunswick;

Omar Narvaez-Mata, 30, Gibbons Street, Linden;

Thomas Newsom, 66, Prospect Street, Somerset;

Angel Oquendo, 56, Plum Street, New Brunswick;

Lemont Pringle, 44, Winding Lane, Sayreville;

Douglas Stephens, 64, Pheasant Hollow Drive, Plainsboro;

The following were charged with 3rd degree Conspiracy to Possess a Controlled Dangerous Substance but have not been arrested as Investigators continue to search for them:

Angel Pena, 69, Henry Street, Somerset, NJ

Timothy Glover, 50, Belmar Street, Somerset, NJ

Travis Best, 51, Remsen Avenue, New Brunswick, NJ

Robert Friedman, 55, Briarwood Drive, Somerset.

Heroin stamps seized included Transformers, Major League Baseball, Jumpman, Elmo with Love, Tango and Cash, Tiger Woods, Kill Bill, Joy & Pain, Dope Dick, Block Buster, and Cadillac.
