PLAINSBORO, NJ -- Authorities are still invesigating the death last week of a Plainsboro woman formerly from Basking Ridge.

The body of Carolyn Byington, 26, was discovered by police at 6 p.m. last Monday night, June 10, according a statement by to Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew Carey and Plainsboro Police Chief Fred Travener.

Byington was a 2011 graduate of Ridge High School who was working as a senior associate in project management at Engine, a marketing and advertising company located in Carnegie Center in West Windsor, according to a story published by Community News Service in Lawrence.

The published report said that the body was discovered after officers were dispatched to Byington’s apartment. Byington never returned from her lunch break, causing concern among her co-workers, who notified local authorities.

The death was ruled a homicide later Monday night after an autopsy by the Middlesex County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Byington earned a bachelor’s degree in international affairs/anthropology and sociology (double major) from Lafayette College.
