MORRISTOWN, NJ – A flash flood on Monday afternoon caused several northbound and southbound lanes on Route 287 to shut down on part of the highway in Morristown during a frustrating rush hour commute.

Traffic was backed up for several miles, according to the Waze live traffic map as cars and trucks slowly treaded through the flooded highway. There was only one lane open on each side of the highway at the bridge under Franklin St.

Expect continued delays along Route 287 throughout the afternoon and into the early evening.
