MORRISTOWN, NJ - A county tradition, the 40th annual Morris County Parade, will step off on Saturday March 9 at 12 noon in Morristown.
The parade route will begin in the parking lot at Town Hall, travel down South Street before continuing around the Morristown Green. Marchers will go make their way around the green, on S. Park Place, E. Park Place, and N. Park Place before continuing on Washington Street, past the Court House and then turning right onto Atno Avenue and ending at the Morristown High School.
Road closures in Morristown will go into effect at 11:30am and will last until the parade route has been cleared, said Morristown Police. Detours will be in place. Motorists should expect delays.
There will be a pre-parade Mass in celebration of Saint Patrick at Assumption Church, 91 Maple Avenue at 10 am. The schedule for the parade, including pre-parade festivities, can be found HERE
One hundred and twenty three groups will be marching in this year's parade. Spectators will here the Colonial Pipes & Drums, Jersey City Firefighters Pipes & Drums, The Madison High School Marching Band, Caballeros Marching Band, the Denville String Band, The Morristown High School Marching Band and the Morris County Police Pipes & Drums, just to name a few. Some of the groups walking in the parade include Morristown Medical Center, Morristown Fire Bureau, Dublin Pub, the Seeing Eye, Greyhound Friends of New Jersey, Lenahan School of Irish Dance, and the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick of Morris County.
