Barking Dog Saves Five from Fire at Putnam Avenue Home

BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ —  A barking dog sounded his own alarm shortly after midnight Thursday morning, alerting five sleeping people of trouble, as a fire swept through the first floor of their Putnam Avenue home.

All five escaped and were able to call 911 for help.

Multi-Car Crash with Fuel Spill Closes I-78 in Warren


WARREN, NJ - A multi-vehicle crash on I-78 in the early hours of Thursday morning has resulted in the highway being closed westbound near exit 36 in Warren. Cleanup is under way for a fuel spill from ruptured saddle tanks.

Route 22 Reopens after Crash in Watchung, Delays Remain


WATCHUNG, NJ -  U.S. Route 22 and Terrill Road have reopened  following a motor vehicle accident involving a box truck, police advised. Expect delays in the area.


Route 22 eastbound was closed at Terrill Road and Terrill Road north was closed at Front Street.

One Vehicle Stolen, Two Burglarized on Same Night in Warren

Power Outage Closes Valley Mall

GILLETTE, NJ - A power outage has closed Valley Mall in Gillette, at 11:25 p.m. The traffic light at Valley Road at the entrance to the Long Hill Municipal complex is also out.The cause has not yet been identified however sirens are now being heard and high winds persist in the area.

Vehicle Fire Closes Mount Bethel Road

WARREN, NJ - A garbage truck fire has closed Mount  Bethel Road between Mount Horeb Road and Dubois Road. Central School was evacuated to Camp Harmony but there is no emergency at the school, Warren police advised.

GREEN BROOK, NJ - A car fire has closed Route 22 westbound on Thursday evening. Traffic is backed up into North Plainfield and is being detoured through Liccardi Motors.
