Villa Maria Fire Continues in North Plainfield, Closes Somerset Street

NORTH PLAINFIELD - A five alarm fire in the early morning hours of Tuesday morning is being fought at the vacant Villa Maria at 641 Somerset Street. At 10 a.m. the fire was still burning and fire companies are being rotated,  continuing to operate hitting hot spots of active fire, authorities said.

Somerset Street South was closed and heavy smoke filled the air.

Five-Alarm Fire at Villa Maria in North Plainfield

NORTH PLAINFIELD - A five-alarm fire in the early morning hours Tuesday is being fought at the vacant Villa Maria at 641 Somerset St. At 5:45 a.m. the fire was still burning. It is the second fire at the property in the last three months. The first was on July 13.

Missing Person: Margaret Haddican McEnroe Still Missing in Warren

WARREN, NJ - It’s  been 11 years since Margaret Haddican-McEnroe was reported missing by her husband on Thursday, Oct. 12, 2006, two days after he last saw her at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 10. Her 40th birthday was August 25 of this year.

Porsche Stolen from Warren Driveway

WARREN, NJ - An Old Smalleytown Road resident reported that an unlocked 2015 Porsche was stolen from their driveway on Sunday, police said. 

Video surveillance shows that the car was taken at approximately 2:30 a.m. on Sunday morning. Anyone with information is asked to call the Warren Police non emergency number at 908-753-1000.

Crash Stalls Traffic on I-78 in Warren

WARREN, NJ - A crash on I-78 has slowed traffic for the Monday morning commute. The accident occurred on I-78 eastbound at the Exit 40 ramp to Hillcrest Road.

Warren Police to Host Free Child Safety Seat Check

WARREN, NJ - The Warren Township Police Department will be hosting a free Child Safety Seat Check on Wednesday, October 18  between 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. weather permitting.

This event will be held at Mt. Bethel Vol. Firehouse, 128 Mt. Bethel Road, Warren, NJ.  Contact Traffic Safety at 908-753-8408 for additional information.
