NORTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – An investigation into a shooting that occurred in the early morning hours of July 17, 2019 in North Plainfield was announced by Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson, Chief of County Detectives John W. Fodor, and North Plainfield Chief of Police William Parenti on Friday.
Prosecutor Robertson provided the following account:
On July 17, 2019, at approximately 12:45 a.m., police officers were in the area of Somerset Street when they heard gunshots. Officers located an individual near a convenience store on Somerset Street with a gunshot wound and rendered medical aid.
The victim, a North Plainfield resident, was was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Detectives from Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit responded to the scene, along with detectives from the North Plainfield Police Department to conduct an investigation.
