WARREN, NJ - Effective immediately, Governor Murphy has ordered all State and County Parks closed during the COVID-19 health crisis until further notice. For Warren Township that means the East County Park Reserve and the Warrenbrook Golf Course are now closed to ALL individuals regardless of social distancing protocols. Furthermore, all Warren Township School Properties along with the Watchung Hills Regional High School Campus remain closed to the public.
The Warren Township Municipal Parks will remain open ONLY for walking/running; however, social distancing requiring a 6-foot separation between people must be practiced. Playground equipment use and organized group activities are prohibited.
The Warren Township Police have been receiving complaints that people are gathering in our parks and schools to play sports or “hang out.” We take social distancing and Governor Murphy’s Executive Orders seriously and we will ask you to leave these areas if the guidelines cannot be followed.
Additionally, continue to stay at home as much as possible and only be with your immediate family within your household. We understand that the holidays are approaching, and you may want to be with your extended family, but we strongly urge you to postpone any holiday plans and continue to practice social distancing. If we are called to a large gathering, family or otherwise, we will be enforcing Governor Murphy’s Executive Orders and will disperse the group accordingly.
We understand these are tough times for everyone and we ask that you continue to be proactive in following the social distancing and stay at home protocols until this health crisis is ultimately over. Stay healthy and stay safe!
