WARREN, NJ - Harry Delgado, accreditation program director New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police (NJSACOP), praised the Warren Township Police Department for receiving its second re-accreditation at the last meeting of the Warren Township Committee.
Delgado congratulated Warren Township Police Chief William Keane, Accreditation Manager Sgt. Matt Saum, members of the department and the mayor and township committee for “joining a very exclusive group of law enforcement agencies that have made this important commitment to excellence in policing.”
“Accreditation is a progressive and time-proven method to improve a police department’s performance through the implementation of professional standards,” Chief Keane said. “I would like to thank our Accreditation Manager Sgt. Matt Saum and his team, (Ofc. Pat Bennett, Det. Mike Dollard and Ofc. Brandon Sebastian) for their attention to detail and commitment to excellence with completing our second Re-accreditation.”
Qualifying police departments have to conform to best practice standards from the NJSACOP. Accredited status represents a significant professional achievement and acknowledges the implementation of policies and procedures that are “ conceptually sound and operationally effective," Delgado said.
