SOMERVILLE, NJ - The Somerset County Department of Health Friday reported 21,475 positive tests for the COVID-19 virus, an increase of 136 cases overnight with 704 COVID-19 deaths reported since March 8, 2020.

The New Jersey Department of Health on Friday reported a total of 807,970 positive cases of the coronavirus since the pandemic began its spread in the state one year ago, an increase of 3,933 overnight. The death toll in New Jersey is 22,047, an increase of 24 overnight.

There have been 12,237,722 COVID-19 tests administered in New Jersey.

Somerville has had a total of 1,008 COVID-19 cases since March 2020, with a total of 16 COVID-19 related deaths.

The number of COVID-19 cases worldwide is 130,610,726 including 2,845,464 deaths, according to the federal Centers for Disease Control & Prevention on Friday morning, with 31,264,471 cases in the United States and 566,818 deaths.

The SCDOH confirmed the deaths of 206 Franklin Township residents; 93 in Hillsborough/Millstone; 102 in Bridgewater; 47 in Bernards Township; 51 in North Plainfield; 35 in Green Brook; 15 in Watchung; 22 in Raritan; 23 in Bound Brook; 22 in Warren; 20 in Manville; 16 in Somerville; 21 in Montgomery; 10 in Branchburg; 5 in Bedminster; 5 in Bernardsville; 4 in South Bound Brook; 4 in Peapack-Gladstone and 1 in Rocky Hill and 1 in Far Hills.
