Jayden Baltuch led the Watchung Hills’ girls with nine points. Senior guards Olivia Mullins and Molly Lynch led Rutgers Prep with 11 and 16 points. The Argonauts finished ahead, 60-34.

“One heck of a ride this week for the Lady Warriors,” said WHRHS head coach Reece Kirchofer.  “Not the result we wanted today but a week like no other making it to the county final for the first time in 12 years!  Our opening state game will also be senior night so a good way to get back those good vibes and strike out to accomplishment our third goal of a sectional title.  Our team has bounced back from defeat before, I expect us working hard the next 10 days or so as we head toward the finish line.”

Both boys and girls teams will play at home on Tuesday in the first round of the state tournament.
