WARREN, NJ - The Warren Township School District in partnership with the Warren/Watchung Municipal Alliance, Somerset County Office of Youth Services, Safe Communities Coalition of Hunterdon and Somerset Counties and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) of N.J. are eager to announce a Drug Awareness Program for the community that will be held on Thursday, March 12 at 7:00 pm.at Warren Middle School, 100 Old Stirling Road. Parents of children of all ages and community members from any Watchung Hills district are encouraged to attend.
Special agent Timothy P. McMahon will be hosting a presentation titled “Hidden in Plain Sight.” During this presentation audience members will be exposed to the latest drug and alcohol trends and the dangers of vaping.
Doors will open at 6 pm and guests will be able to browse resource tables and speak with experts in the field from different community partners.
According to Lisa Lontai, Warren Middle School nurse, “prevention is key! The district’s goal is to partner with parents and guardians to give our students the tools they need to mitigate adversity they may face when it comes to tobacco, drugs, and alcohol. This is a partnership, a multifaceted approach to educating our children about maintaining a healthy lifestyle and to give them the skills they need to navigate life successfully.”
The district looks forward to partnering with the community on March 12 during this interactive and educational presentation.
