WARREN, NJ - It’s a wrap for the 2018-19 Warren Recreation High School Intramural Basketball season and champions have been crowned in the Freshmen-Sophomore and Junior-Senior Divisions.  Watchung Hills Regional High School teachers, Joe Ascolese and Jon Bedi have been running this successful program for over ten years.

 

Rutgers defeated Stanford, 61-48 in the 2019 Freshmen-Sophomore Championship. Team members include Justin Drews, Frankie Gaffney, Adam Cardoza, Luke Malfetti, Justin Defuria, Nikhil Mavinkirve, Christian Beisler, Blake Kominsky and Gene Chung.  “Congratulations to both teams a well-played season,” said Warren Recreation.  

 

In a close game, unbeaten No. 1 seed UNC held off No. 2 seed Miami 55-53 in a very competitive back-and-forth Junior-Senior championship game which came down to the wire with Miami missing a potential game tying shot with under a second left in the game.  The 2019 UNC Junior-Senior Rec Basketball Champions are:  Ben Ant, Brad Pinho, John Seyda, James McKenna, Andrew Martins, Chris Meireles, Brendan Langenauer, Sebastian Leon, Evan Bujnowski, and Kevin Ryan.
