WARREN, NJ - Watchung Hills softball defeated Franklin in the first round of the State Tournament on Wednesday, 5-0. The Watchung Hills Warriors will play Union on Friday at home at 4pm. 

Kaysen Shikar pitched 14 strikeouts allowing just two hits for Watchung Hills. Samantha Miller went 2-4, 1R, 2SB, Sam Raymond went 2-4, with a 2B, 1R, 1RBI, Ella Stevinson went 2-3, 2R, 1RBI, Dani LaCanna went 1-3, 2RBI, And Madelyn Cerami got an RBI and a pick off at first base to end the game.

“Warriors are very excited to advance to the next round! Kaysen Shikar did a fantastic job in the circle today with 14K and only 2 hits against her,” said WHRHS head coach Dominique Ocello. “We have to continue to work hard, dig deep and string those hits along if we want to take this home! A long battle ahead of us but we will be ready”
