WARREN, NJ - The Watchung Hills boys and girls basketball teams both won their battles of the Warriors on Tuesday. The boys defeated Franklin at home 68-48 to remain unbeaten, 12-0. The girls won 64-54 on the road to improve to 8-1. Both teams face Gill St. Bernards on Thursday.

“Very happy to come away with the W against a very scrappy and gritty Franklin squad,” said WHRHS head coach Justin Salton. “We just looked very tired out there today...we will adjust in practice tomorrow to try to speed up recovery as this is a crazy tough week as we travel to one of the best teams in the state on Thursday and play against one of the top public schools in the state on Sunday.”

Chad Martini had a monster double-double for Watchung Hills with 30 points and 11 rebounds. Trevor Bokash added 16 points, Brian Hopwood chipped in 8 points, 6 rebounds and 5 steals, Michael Bressler added 6 and Pat Stefurak 5 for Watchung Hills.

In Franklin, senior Mahogany Jenkins had another double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds while adding 4 assists and 3 steals to lead the Warriors over Franklin in Somerset. Alexa Santo led the scoring for Watchung Hills with 15 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Sophomore Bella Murray had 13 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists and Senior Scarlett Glasser-Nehls pitched in 10 points and 4 steals to help the Warriors improve to 8-1 on the season. Senior Keona Schenck paced Franklin with 15 points.
