The League of Women Voters of Wayne Township will sponsor their second Election Forum on Thursday, October 3 at the Wayne Township Municipal Chambers, 475 Valley Road, Wayne.

Candidates for Passaic County Sheriff will speak at 7:00pm, Candidates for Passaic County Freeholder will discuss the issues from 7:30pm to 8:00pm. They will be followed by the candidates for New Jersey Assembly from the 40th District starting at 8:00pm. The forum is open to the public and will be cablecast live on channel 77.

For Sheriff, Democratic incumbent Richard Berdnik will face off against Republican candidate Darren Woolridge.

Republican incumbents Kevin Rooney and Christopher DePhillips are challenged by Democratic candidates Maria Martini Cordonnier and Julie O’brien, respectively.

Democratic incumbent Freeholders Terry Duffy and Pat Lepore are facing Republican Maria A. Giammona where the voters will choose any two of the three candidates.

During the forums, each candidate will be given the same amount of time to give an opening statement and answer questions that are asked by the forum moderator. “The questions come from the League, but also from the audience in attendance,” said Yates.
