WAYNE, NJ – Stacy Scher and husband Marc Scher were arrested, and both were charged with possession of marijuana, fourth degree and conspiracy to possess marijuana, fourth degree. Stacey Scher is the Vice President of the Wayne Board of Education and was a pivotal majority vote in restoring Eda Ferrante to Full-Time Release status as President of the Wayne Education Association, two nights ago. Federal law enforcement authorities contacted the Wayne police that a package containing THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol) products was being shipped from Canada to Wayne. An investigation was initiated, and it was learned that Stacey Scher allegedly purchased the THC products and had them shipped to a location in Wayne. Her husband, Marc Scher attempted to retrieve the package but was intercepted by police.
The crimes charged both offer a maximum sentence of eighteen months each in New Jersey State Prison. Stacey and Marc Scher were released on a summons complaint and are scheduled to appear before a judge on November 4, 2019.
According to the Wayne police: A criminal complaint is merely an accusation. Despite the accusation, the defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
