(Wayne, New Jersey) -  At the special meeting of August 6th, the Wayne Board of Education approved two district goals for the 20-21 school year.  Both goals are timely and address immediate concerns.  The first goal calls for a district-wide focus on issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion and requires a collaborative process and formal review of district programs and operations.  The second goal pertains to the successful re-opening of the school system after the extensive pandemic closure.  This goal is primarily focused on enhancing the distance learning experience to allow for a stronger connection between students and teachers while also offering adaptability to a variety of potential changes.

The Wayne Board of Education approved several goals in prior years that led to significant improvements in the school system. Previous goals include one-to-one computing, health and wellness for students and staff, emergency preparedness, kindergarten wrap, the Anti-Defamation League No Place for Hate Program, and enhanced career and technical education.  Click here for the 2020-2021 District Goals.
