WAYNE, NJ – On one of the hottest first days of fall in recent memory, one of the hottest sports bars and restaurants opened at the Willowbrook Mall for lunch.  Buffalo Wild Wings is now the destination for sports fans of all kinds at the Mall.  A ribbon-cutting ceremony marked the grand opening with VIPs from Buffalo Wild Wings, the Willowbrook Mall and the Tri-County Chamber of Commerce.

At one of the main entrances to the Willowbrook Mall between the Macy’s and Bloomingdales, the VIP group stood before a large red ribbon hung before the Buffalo Wild Wings entrance, scissors in hand.

Nancy Barbary, the Senior General Manager of Willowbrook Retail opened the ceremony, saying: “Our goal is to make the Willowbrook Mall a local dining destination. Adding Buffalo Wild Wings with its fun atmosphere to our growing list of restaurants is a huge win for us and we’re so excited to have them here.”

Jamie Dykes, President of the Tri-County Chamber of Commerce spoke next: “Wayne is a phenomenal and very welcoming community and I know that you will have a great time here and be very successful,” he said to applause from the throng of employees that ringed the ceremony.  Dykes also spoke on behalf of Wayne Mayor Chris Vergano, who could not attend: “He is very excited about Buffalo Wild Wings coming to this market and Mayor Vergano looks forward to being able to come out and enjoy your fine cuisine.”

Lastly, Buffalo Wild Wings Regional Vice President in the Northeast and Canada, Tony Rathrauff addressed the crowd: “To be here to unveil our new look in the Wayne community is very, very exciting,” he said, before the ribbon was cut. “At Buffalo Wild Wings, we believe in creating legendary experiences between friends, and we think this new design will do just that.”

“This restaurant boasts one of the first new designs for Buffalo Wild Wings since 2012,” said Laura Karras, the Field Marketing Advisor for Buffalo Wild Wings who flew in from Pittsburgh for the event.

The modern design is evident as soon as you walk in. To the right of the main entrance is the large bar area featuring a bar top made from recycled basketball courts. On one side is the patio area, which is enclosed with rollup garage doors, large viewing screens and skylights. On the other side is the bar's indoor sitting area, which boasts an LED modular jumbotron and televisions surrounding the section.

The indoor restaurant area is open and modern, mixing rectangular and round tabletops, and different sized booths for parties of all sizes.  Huge viewing screens flank the entire restaurant, offering fans any kind of sports viewing you can imagine.

“We want Buffalo Wild Wings to be THE place for fans to come together and watch their favorite teams in a fun and exciting atmosphere, with great food and great drinks,” said Rothrauff.

One of the other key elements to the new design is the MVP room which offers a space for private parties and includes gaming consoles, several TV screens and self-pour beer taps.

“This is the first in the northeast where we are unveiling our new look and we’re excited to have the fans come into our flagship of the northeast,” Rothrauff said. “This is a great spot for us with the population density, traffic and exposure and visibility here at the mall. We think it’s going to do very well.”

After the ribbon was cut, all of the Buffalo Wild Wings’ employees posed for pictures in front of the mall’s newest restaurants and cheered as Rothrauff said: “Let’s start welcoming in some fans into the sports bar!”

With that, the Wayne Buffalo Wild Wings is officially open.
