WAYNE, NJ – Long-time Wayne Valley High School (WVHS) track and cross-country coach, Conan Ward is partnering with TAPinto Wayne to provide a bi-weekly financial column called Financial Focus.

With over thirty-years of experience in the industry and the backing of the expertise of Edward Jones, Ward, through his column, will share insights with the Wayne community on how to make better financial decisions for long-term success.

Ward graduated WVHS in 1980 before going on to NJIT.  After college, he started his career working for Payne Webber in 1986. “I’ve been in the financial services industry, in some capacity, for more than thirty years,” he said. “I love it. For me, I love helping people to create and ultimately reach their financial goals.”

As a WVHS track and cross-country coach from 1982 to 2009, Ward coached many championship teams and individuals and was named county coach of the year a dozen times, but his personal coaching highlight was when Ward was named the New Jersey State indoor, group 3 coach of the year in the mid-nineties.

For Ward it wasn’t just about the sport. “I took a great deal of personal satisfaction in coaching the kids of Wayne and teaching them, not just about athletics, but what it takes to be successful in any part of their life.” It’s this same philosophy that he brings as a financial advisor.

Ward grew up in Wayne, spent almost thirty years coaching here and decided to open up his business in Wayne at 500 Valley Road, just across from his old school. Ward joked: “So, pretty much my whole life, I’ve never gone more than two-hundred meters from Wayne Valley High School.”

About his partnership with TAPinto: “I’m excited to be partnering with TAPinto Wayne,” he said. “In their short existence, TAPinto has shown itself to be a credible, objective news source that covers Wayne news and highlights the beauty of our town and its people. I feel this will be a great platform for me to help even more people.”
