WAYNE, NJ – During the January 2 Wayne Board of Education (BOE) reorganization meeting, TAPinto Wayne was named the electronic/digital news source for the Wayne Township Board of Education for 2020.
At each reorganization meeting, the BOE decides which newspapers will be designated as the official newspapers for publishing the BOE’s public notices. For years the Wayne BOE has chosen the Herald and Wayne Today for this service.
These two papers were listed on the BOE agenda, but during the meeting BOE member Sean Duffy made a motion to add to the list with the addition of TAPinto Wayne as the official online news site for the BOE.
“I would like to move to have TAPinto Wayne, a local online paper, be added as a newspaper of record,” said Duffy. “In this age of digital news, I think it’s important. And, after witnessing the reorganization of the Town Council yesterday, I believe they took the same step.” Duffy was pointing out that the Wayne Town Council named TAPinto Wayne as their officially designated online news source at their annual reorganization meeting. BOE member Matthew Giordano seconded the motion.
The motion was passed 8-1 with only former BOE President Michael Bubba voting No.
For 2020, you will see all of the BOE’s public notices published in TAPinto Wayne’s Education section.
