The Wayne Education Association and Eda Ferrante will be partnering with Mayor Chris Vergano, Superintendent Mark Toback, the Wayne School District, the Wayne Police Department, the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), and the Wayne Alliance to present a program aimed at making parents more able to identify habits and evidence of illicit drug use in their children.
“Hidden in Plain Sight,” presented by DEA Special Agent Timothy P. McMahon, is designed to educate parents on various signs, often fairly obvious, that would assist them in understanding the use of street drugs and the paraphernalia often associated with the particular drug. Frequently, these drugs and devices used to ingest them are often so foreign to parents that they can be left out in the open without the parents being able to identify them as such.
The event is April 28 and runs from 6 pm to 9 pm and includes a free sit-down dinner. Music by Wayne students will be featured as guests arrive.
Advance registration is required, please use the following link to register http://bit.ly/2TdXadN.
Parents are strongly urged to attend this event as this education can assist them in keeping their children and the children of Wayne drug-free.
