WAYNE, NJ - TAPinto Wayne received the raw data of write-in names for Wayne Board of Education from the town Clerk and performed an unofficial hand-count of the votes, with the top two candidates separated by six votes out of the 2,064 write-in votes cast.

  • Dawn Kumar - 608 Votes - 29.45% of the write-in Votes*
  • James Fera - 602 Votes - 29.17% of the write-in Votes*

During the count, it was a four person race early on including Eileen Domico and Mansi Verma, but it soon became a two-person race by the WEA-backed candidates of Fera and Kumar. When the votes of Kumar and Fera doubled those of Domico and Verma, TAPinto only began to count votes for Fera and Kumar.

TAPinto Wayne included votes for anything that made sense: Farrah, for Fera and Kuma or Kumer for Kumar, but the real decisions as to what votes should be counted will be made by County officials and will determine the winner of this race.

NB: Could it be just a coincidence that the top four write-in BOE candidates were the only four candidates to submit their Candidate Statements on TAPinto Wayne?  ...Couldn't be!
